    On my Row By Row quilt wall hangings, I use Heat N Bond lite to fuse the applique, and then I do a meander quilting. Since it is a wall hanging and won't be washed, I think that is fine.

    I made a row by row (my own pattern) and I stitched all my appliqué down by machine either stitching close to the edge or as part of the FMQ process. I guess I just don't trust fused pieces to "stick". Just me.

    I'm sewing the edges of the fused pieces with invisible thread and a short zig zag stitch. I want most of the zig zag stitch on the fused piece with just a bit on the background fabric.
