    Need to clip the whole thing about 3/8 inch apart and 1/4 inch deep. Works wonders

    Have to agree with previous posters, gotta do that clipping to get the nice fluffy raggy look and feel to come together. Just go back and clip closer together and run it through the wash again, Im sure it will come out just like you envisioned. Let us know how it goes and post an "after" shot for us to see.

    I always use flannel when I make rag quilts and clip all the seams throughout the whole quilt, then wash and dry several times. Should "rag" up nicely.

    I've never seen a "ragged flag" before.

    cotton does not rag very well, you need flannel or homespun to get a big rag effect
