It was just stippling so relatively easy.

As you will see in one of the pictures on the back of the quilt there are small birds nests that i'm not sure why that happened. I could not tell on my machine when it was happening and didn't know it till the end. Also could I trim them off or will that compromise the thread and then lead it to possibly pulling out? I'm keeping it for myself so not to worried about it, but just was wanting any ideas for future ones.

    Thanks for looking.
I love it!! Your quilt is beautiful!!!

The things you can learn on this board! I'm still just working with a featherweight and don't have the confidence ( or room!) to try FMQ on anything big. But with the tips I get here - maybe one of these days..... Good thing I love to hand quilt! Great job! Your first? Beautiful! Great colors too.

Thank you all so much!!! I think since this is the first one I might just leave the nests how they are. I'm ready to start on my next one. It will be a present for my SIL so if there are some on hers then I will probably fix those.

The green color I got at my LQS and it is called Garden Song by Nancy Halvorsen which is a Benartex cotton.

Nests can be caused when you change directions while FMQ and you are not moving the fabric as fast, or as slow, as your machine speed. That same thing will also cause loops on the back of your quilt. If your machine speed is slow, your FMQ should also be slow. As you practice, you'll know if you do better at a slow, medium, or fast speed.
I agree. It is easier to resew than rick them getting caught on something. It is a beautiful quilt and worth restitching.
