You've taken so many of the needs of elderly people into account in your design. Congratulations and THANK YOU!

My parents and my parents-in-law are all still alive but in their mid-to-late 80's. My father, who suffers from Parkinson's disease, uses a bib at every meal. To put it politely, my father-in-law probably should do the same.

I would love to make bibs that they might feel good about. Would you please share your pattern and/or make a tutorial for me (and others) to follow?

    Oh, how I'd appreciate that!

Looks really good, but I'd prefer it to called a clothing protector if I owned one. Bib sounds a little babyish to me.

Our guild makes them...we call them "adult clothing protectors". Yours is very pretty.

I found the pattern here http://www.laurassewingstudio.com/NL/060407/060407.html,

What I did was cut my front, back, batting and vinyl to a size that was big enough. I free motion quilted them all together. I then cut the "Clothing Protector" out according to the pattern. I cut out the pocket and basted it onto the bottom of the Protector. I was going to use a bias binding, but didn't have any here at home to match, and for the sake of time didn't want to make some. So I used a satin stich around the edge. I had to go around the entire piece twice to get the coverage I wanted. Put a velcro closure. Then did the monogramming.

Just because something is useful does not mean it has to be ugly. You did a good job there.
