Default Furry Sweetness for our daughter

I bought this pattern, Furry Sweetness by Eat Cake Designs, more than 8 yrs. ago, just in case our daughter ever had a baby. Has anyone else done this? LOL. She and her boyfriend of 6 1/2 yrs. finally got married last Spring and they just had their first child, a boy, yesterday (our fifth grand child). The only bad thing is they used to live 20 min. away, and moved to the state of Washington in October. : ( We will be making a trip out there soon.

The pattern just fit her: she was an animal science major in college, had worked for a vet, had worked for the ASPCA, had adopted all her animals from rescue and ran her own animal sitting business. The two cats in the upper row are two of her cats, the black cat is another and the dog with the spot on her eye is one of her dogs. The other dog is holding the label on the back. I finally finished it at retreat last week when the owner graciously agreed to quilt the dog prints on her long arm for me. She did a fabulous job.

I resized the size of the blocks a little bit to make the sashing squares end up in the corners of the blocks, unlike the pattern.

The dog holding the label is a replica of her rescued Mastiff. I will hand write the message in permanent ink, so I left the right hand side of the label open to insert a piece of cardboard to prevent seepage, and will restitch that area when done.

I love it, so hope she does too. Enjoy.
