    Default house lap quilt

Using a leftover house block, I made this 36-inch lap quilt/wall hanging for a friend who is retiring. It took me about 3 weeks to get it done--I couldn't decide what blocks, fabric, etc., to use. I borrowed some ideas from quilts I have seen online, including the button flowers. I named it 'No Place Like Home,' also an idea I borrowed but it seemed to fit. I have some cat and dog buttons I plan to pin to the doorway and in the windows after it dries. I washed it and am blocking it now. It's not perfect, but it's done and ready to deliver tomorrow.
