This is only my 4th quilt and I'm having trouble selecting a border color for this "square in square 2". I laid out 3 options (altho am willing to consider others too)- burgundy which matches the center sq., beige also matches center sq., or off white which matches the polka dots. I thought if I used the off white or beige I'd use the orange polka dot for binding. If I used the burgundy I thought I might use off white/white which would match the dots in the quilt and the center square. Please- any opinions would be helpful.

Oooo LOVE your quilt top!!! :D:D:D
I like the darker, the light is a bit stark next to the other fabrics.

Do you have any more of the floral fabric - that one would be a nice border - even if it was narrow with a wider border added after it. Maybe try a medium/light green. Otherwise I like the burgundy, but I wouldn't use the white for binding against a burgundy border.

I can get more of the floral. I like that idea. Then what for binding? The orange polka dot? Or burgundy? or ??? There isn't any green anywhere in the print- just pinks, burgundy, orange, white and taupe.

Thanks for all the input, everybody.

I'd do a narrow burgandy border and then a wider floral border. I like a dark narrow border to "close off" the quilt before I put my last border on. (does that make sense?) Very pretty quilt.

    I like janRN's suggestion, too.

I suggested green because it is a cooler color and opposite the "red family" on the color wheel. It may be a nice contrast against the pink, orange, and burgandy (all 3 in the red family) I find green to be a wonderful neutral and use it almost as much as beige. But that's just me. Throw a little green down there and see what you think.
