    Default Kokopelli

Finally, after months in the ufo pile, I finished this kokopelli wall hanging. Now to find a quilting pattern!

I love your kokopelli wall hanging! Your fabric choices are absolutely perfect and scream southwest. He looks like he is made of turquoise inlay. I would do pebbling all behind him and either echo the steps of the suns in the border or do radiating lines out from each one and have them meet in the corners like a miter. But whatever you decide to do it will be awesome. Great job on this.

Is this a native American design? Interesting, I like it. Applique? I see sunbursts/rays and squiggles or easy designs. Not sure why but this really put a smile on my face. It's like all happy and celebratory of the future. New beginning! I don't know what Kokopelli is but looks happy.

Yes Tess, ancient Native American. Dating back over 3000 years from ancient Anasazi hieroglyphs.

Here is a short info page on Kokopelli.

Nice job! Anasazi's are gone but their art lives on. I wonder how many of our quilts will remain after we are gone.
