Default learning experience / Purple table topper

In 2009 I saw a picture of a table runner that I liked and thought to myself "I can make that" So I saved a picture of it. I decided to make it, not giving any consideration to what size it would finish at. By the time I went to add the borders it was already 6 foot long . So I took off 2 rows to shorten it and then put the borders on. Now I am having a LOT of trouble getting the borders to come together as they are not 45 degree angles. Finally got that done and decided that I was not going to bind this topper so I sandwiched it and turned it right side out and quilted it. If I ever try this one again I will calculate the finished size first. It finished at 56 X 19.

Large, but very pretty. I recently made one from a picture in a magazine, too, and was dismayed to find out it would be too big for my table, too. So, I did some manipulating, changed the pattern a bit, and then it worked. I liked the original design better, but my version is OK, too.
