    Default Mariner's Compass Wall Quilt

A distant cousin who has Asperger's Disease (a form of autism) has a real talent for drawing and he drew a skull with the mariners compass in the center, then did leaves moving outward from the circle. He's still working on his drawing, but I've finished with my version of it...minus the skull. lol I'll send this finished wall hanging to him.

It measures 24" square and was a fun "in between" project. The center "compass" part has two extra layers of batting behind it so it stands out from the rest of the quilt. I outline quilted the center, as well as the circle and leaves, then used the fabric design in the background to meander quilt the layers using variegated thread in those colors.

Very pretty. What a great thing to do for your cousin. Hope you can post a picture of the original drawing sometime. Sounds very interesting.

Really cool, I love how it appears to be floating on the water, that background is totally perfect!
