i've finally settled on a design. i decided to celebrate jane, the civil war, and america becoming whole again.

i had to use black in the design because all the blues in the software were too light. i'm going to be using an indigo blue every where that you see black.

Meet American Jane - may her stripes fly forever

Nice to meet you Jane. Wow, she is fabulous KLue - it'll be fun working with the fabrics you have chosen and looks like it'll be a really pretty quilt. I can't wait for January!!

i know, me too! the christmas swap will be good because i can get my feet wet. i typically don't make such tiny blocks.

i nearly shot myself in the head for making 4 inch NY beauties in the IRR center.

yes, i picked up the fabric last week.

we're going to have a sew along starting in jan 2010. a bunch of people on the forum will spend 12 months making all the blocks.

i'm going to prepare the list of which blocks will be done each week (in case some want to work ahead) and then every week there will be a thread with help on how to put the blocks together and everyone can post pics of their work.

hopefully, many types of quilters will join in and can contribute their methods because i'll mainly do machine paper piecing.
