WOW what fabulous work she did!!! Do you think you may put them into a quilt one day?? It would make a wonderful memory quilt... "Memories of Mom" :)

What a special treasure you have! Your mom was so talented and it is wonderful that she left you something physical to hold in your hands when you are missing her. It must make you feel so close to her when you get them out and look at them.

I would frame them behind glass , with a card or label with info.......an heirloom to hand down and last forever. Did mom make the quilt in the first picture?

I am glad you all enjoyed seeing them, I always do. No, Ruth, the first picture is not a quilt, just a little over half of her blocks all spread out over my bed. All my siblings and myself, as well as many other relatives and friends, have a quilt or two or three that Mom made especially for us. She did beautiful work, and it is a great memory and comfort to have them. I wonder what to do with all of these blocks, there are far too many to frame and hang. Some of them could be put together into wall hangings and tablerunners, but there would still be many left. I am trying to decide if I could put them into some sort of scrapbook, something easily accessible that would minimize wear and tear form handling. Mom never intended to do anything with these, she just enjoyed making something pretty.

Same here, no one can replace our Moms. Yours certainly was talented and what a wonderful gift that has been left for you. Enjoy it, I would be caressing them all the time. It is like something with her handwriting, priceless.

Those are beautiful blocks. I especially like the first one. I like all the colors she picked and she made such beautiful blocks.

Was she planning on quilting them all in a sampler?
