    You did a splendid job. It took me a couple years to get the hang of it and now I prefer to hand quilt. I only machine quilt if I'm in a rush or it's a baby quilt. I'm starting to forway into freehand and template work. I love your feather pattern in the star, it's beautiful.

    I think it is wonderful! I love to hand quilt also. One of my friends in guild said to just concentrate on the stitching being straight in the rows; not this "how many stitches to the inch," thing.
    I just do it in the evenings while we tv. Some who quilt constantly and keep striving for perfection, just set themselves up for Arthritis of the hands, Cataracts, ect...
    God is the only one who is perfect.

    Looks great! The best thing I ever learned was to keep the fabric in the hoop loose. When it is tight, like with cross stitch embroidery, you cannot rock the needle and get those smaller, consistent stitches.
