I believe I saw these on Etsy and the quilter sells them. The button you see on the right hand side of the house is to be pulled out to reveal a tape measure inside the house!! How cool!! Yes, I've seen the expression before on gifts "the road to a friend's house is never long" on various handmade articles. I believe she designed key fobs to match the houses. They are a great idea for quilters!

Now I found the rest of the house blocks and will finish showing you all of them. The first one I want to show is the #4 house that so many like. I thought it had batting in, but then I remembered reading it has a tape measure in and I found the picture showing the tape measure pulled out. Bear with me as I sort through the rest and hope I don't show duplicates. :D :D

I just LOVE every single one of your houses. They have such character and I am so happy you've shared these. I want a house village much as you have shown us. I've made two so far, but am not at home to picture them. They are very basic, but I can see how one can become attached and want to do more. I keep thinking mine need a tree or a window box or a dog. I really like the flowers in the button house you've done. How did you develop those? Gorgeous, wonderful and you have me motivated now to do more and more. What you done with all these?

Hi Sandy! I have not made any of these blocks. They are simply photos of my favorites done by others. They are to get the creativity flowing. The button one is darling!! The floral foreground fabric is added last, the house first, everything then superimposed on layer by layer. You could cut individual flowers out of a fabric and applique them raw edge. Hope these pics inspire you to create and add to your village you've started. Again, these are just my collection of photos only! Do you like my collection? They sure can become addictive doing the houses or collecting the photos. Hope all of you enjoy them and are inspired!
