Default my old time 30's quilt top

This quilt has a long story to go with it. The hand embroidery was done by my aunt when she was in high school in the 1950's. Grandma put them in a box in the attic that my dad gave to me several years ago. I washed the blocks, not expecting them to survive but they did and came out nice and white. A friend of mine gave me a zip lock bag full of hand stitched flower petals from original 30's fabrics and challenged me to do something with them. I had to think about it for a while but the embroidered blocks and the petals seemed to go together. I made 6 blocks using the petals and arranged them in a flower. More of the leaves are in the border. The colors are so much prettier in person. The pics are cell phone pics but you can get the idea.

You did a nice job blending the two blocks into one quilt. I also like your border treatment. You have a real treasure on your hands!!

Beautiful! I love the 30s reproductions, and the embroidered blocks tie in perfectly.
