I made these quilts for my 9 and 11 year old nieces for Christmas. My DSIL helped, even though she thought they were ugly! (The quilts, not my nieces!) Thanks for looking!

I don't think their ugly. I love the idea of strips going horizontal.

Very unique. Where did you get the idea from?

    I don't think they're ugly at all. I love them! I think I might need to try this . . . eventually.

I love these, I like the way you broke up the bright colors, I have some bright fabrics for sale now and if they don't all sell I may do this with them!

I love them. I like the way you quilted them. But, my favorite are the colors. Can you tell me where you got the inspiration for the color combination?

My DSIL says the colors come from my warped mind! I made a variation from a recent magazine cover. I think it was a Quick Quilts from this fall or winter. The cover showed white strips on the outsides and muted blues and reds for the middle strips. Inside the magazine, they showed the same quilt made with white and brighter colors. I was going to mix all of my colors together, but family and friends talked me into sorting the strips into two sets. I like the quilt with the yellow better, but my mom likes the one with the purples better. They are both loud and obnoxious, but that fits my family! These are my second and third quilts that I've completely finished. My DSIL let me use her brand spanking new Janome for all of it! (I've since gotten one of my own.)
