Your quilting is the star. It turns a simpler set of blocks into wonder to behold.

Welcome back, I remember your name from years past. Beautiful quilting on this quilt. By chance was this done with rulers, robotics or free hand. It's amazing and beautiful no matter how you did it cause it is still your creation. Wish I could create like you do even though I'd have to use robotics as my hands shake way too much to even stitch a straight line using a ruler.

Great work, hope to see more from you now that you've decided to come back.

Hi Suz. I remember you too. I am all hand guided. This quilt was a mix of ruler work and free motion. I don't have robotics. I used several different rulers. I used my little straight the most. Designs in the border were done with Quilted Pineapple curve rulers in multiple sizes. I used a circle ruler to make the flower motif in the star block and embellished it with free motion design that look kind of like Japanese Noshi ribbons. I also replicated that Noshi ribbon motif in the border around the cross hatched diamonds. The swirls and squared off leaf fronds in the alternate block that looks like sashing were freehand but I did mark a center line for the fronds and registration points where I wanted the swirls so they would stay somewhat symmetrical.
