What a great quilt. Love the buttons. Your mom and pop must be very proud of your talents!

SEVENCUBS your gift of the quilt is the nicest design I have ever seen for such a project. I hope you make a few squares for a smaller quilt -- even preemie size -- so you'll have something to touch after you give Mom her quilt. My dad passed away seven years ago this month and I made flannel quilts incorporating a few of his shirts. I smile whenever I see certain plaids. This is very comforting.

    Piecefully yours,
    Kay Susan

jbsstrawberry, thank you for your kind words. I am sorry for your loss as well. I'm sure you miss your brother very much.
I have not yet gotten the cloths from my daughter in law. I'm hoping she will be able to turn loose of them. She just sold his car a few weeks ago. I am waiting for her to give them to me but I will probably be like you are and not be able to do it for a while. I'm hoping to be able to get two quilts out of the shirts as he has two daughters. They are still very young, but I hope to be able to give them each a quilt made out of their fathers clothing when they get old enough to know what it means.
Let me know how yours turns out when you get it done. :-) :)

What a loving tribute to your Dad. Your Mom will cry, but it wll give her so much comfort. I sure it gave you a lot of comfort working on it and remembering memories of your Dad wearing them. You are such a good daughter, I'm sure your Dad will be watching over when you give it to your MOM. Beautiful job.

That has got to be the best gift one could receive--and make. She will feel loved by you, and wrapped in his arms.

    You are terrific.

joyful-noise, and Lisa, loosing a loved one is so hurtful. I do think loosing a son would very hard!! But do make the quilts, and yes, if you are like me the quilt will be spladdered with tears but it helped the hurt!
