Really spectacular quilt. Someone put a lot of work into that one.

Imagine the hours and hours. I wish I could see the back - I can't make out much quilting from the top. It does make me queasy as well. I'd need a steady diet of Dramamine and a safety harness to sleep under it. Is it my imagination, or do the pieces get smaller toward the middle, giving it that vortex illusion? Remind me never to do that on any of my quilts :) But the hours of work that went into this leaves me breathless.

I'm not educated in fabrics, and am super curious what doesn't look authentic about those used in this quilt. How can you tell? What do you look for?

Thanks, mtspools :) I found some similar for 1830 fabrics as well, both of North American and European origin. Since this was on a Swedish site (if I remember correctly?) perhaps the maker had access to more "modern" fabrics and patterns than those on this side of "the pond."

Now that I'm looking that much closer, there are some really gorgeous fabric patterns in this quilt.

Quite a work of art - wonder how long it took her/him/them to complete.

Really, when you think of the material and time it took to do, perhaps $7200.00 is not too much to ask - but not in my piggy bank right now. LOL
