I think I will try one of these. Between a hubby and dogs it would sure be a lot easier to clean

This is a fabulous idea. And I, too, am waiting for the tute. We bought a recliner cover, but it is so big and sloppy that it looks awful. Our main recliner doesn't need a cover except for about 3 small (fingernail size) holes in the seat where someone tried to vacuum it clean, and vacuumed up the fabric, so this type of cover would be perfect for it. Hurry with the tute. Thanks. Margie

Well you started a monster for sure. It is beautiful, you did a great job on it.

This is not a very large recliner so it only needed about 3 yards of fabric (same for the backing). It's just a long rectangle 72" by 27". I measured from where I wanted the back edge to hang, over the top of the back, down the back and out to the edge of the seat then added about 6 inches for "tuck in." Same for the width...measured the seat back at it's widest point to determine the width of the rectangle. The back is wider than the seat, of course, so there was enough "tuck in" without adding width.

As I recall, I just quilted about 3 yards of fabric, the full width of the fabric with a lightweight cotton batting. Very simple grid quilting. There was enough for the small side pieces as well as the two arm covers....and I think I have a piece left over to make a pillow cover. Matching some of the stripes was accidental!
