    Default quilting idea

On 6/13/18 I posted 4 of my latest log cabin tops and have been staring at this top for days and finally decided what I wanted to do. I have one of them done and wanted to share how I quilted this. This is the one with the diagonal "wavey" effect -- I did not want to take away from the pattern, so I marked and quilted in the neutral areas with a cream thread, straight lines that are 2" wide. In the dark areas, I did a meander with navy thread. Using Warm and Natural, I could get away with the 2" channel quilting. This is for charity and I will turn it in on this coming Thursday. I just wanted to quilt this top to see how it would turn out, and wanted to be able to wash it as I had to mark with a chalk pencil, washing it being much easier than erasing those lines!
    Thanks for looking.

I like it, looks good. I always think it’s hard to decide how to quilt.

I need to branch out on my FMQ and combine different quilting like you have. Very nice.

Love the effect you got with the straight lines and meandering. Thanks for sharing the idea and the photo.
