Well, I again find myself with a lot of time on my hands. My 2nd part-time job fizzled out and I'm left with just my part-time job at Joann Fabrics. The new schedule won't be going into effect for about 2 weeks and until then, I'm only working on the weekends, unless I can pick up shifts form other co-workers needing coverage during the week.

So...... I decided that I really should make good use of this time and get some of my UFO's done. The first one that I picked is Raising Miss Daisy and I thought it would be fun to update this as I go along.

With that being said, the 1st pic is of the fabrics that I picked out for this quilt, at least most of them. This quilt pattern called for green stripes and dots, along with bright colors. There are 2 templates and I had to cut 7" strips of the colorful fabrics and 6" strips of the greens. I then had to cut wedge shapes out of each of the strips but the colorful fabrics come to a point at the end of the wedge, while the green wedges had a straight edge. You can see 2 of the green colors in the first picture. There 6 of each wedge to a block.

In the 2nd pic, you can see the sets matched up and ready to be sewn, as they are sitting next to my sewing machine.

In the 3rd and 4th pic, you can see how I've got a start on sewing the strips together, the pile in the 4th pic has gotten smaller.

Now, the 5th pic shows the big pile of pieces that have been sewn together. I just needed to separate them into something more manageable, which you can see in the 6th pic.

And finally, in the 7th pic you can see them after they have been pressed open and ready for the next step.

Well, I have to head off for a couple of hours, so check back again tomorrow for more pics.

Have I got anyone's curiosity aroused yet!?!?

Most of the fabrics for this quilt are here.

My curiosity is peaked but I don't want to sound stupid.
    Okay, I'll sound stupid anyway.
What in the world is a "Raising Miss Daisy"?
