Default remember that quilt I ended up replacing all the fabric???

I've posted before in "main" about this quilt--it's for a competition that had 2 criteria--a specific size and only these colors allowed: black, white (I didn't use it); apple green; "royalish" blue or dark teal, raspberry, sun or maize yellow. I bought fabric while on a shop hop last year, intent on getting started. Fast forward 7 months and I started making the strip sets or strata for Ricky Tims Kool Kaleidascopes--Hated the fabric! Used it for charity project and ordered batiks (only 3 fabrics were in originals bought on shop hop)and started. I screwed up and ended up with Y(why??) seams in the largest template and the middle one. THEN, made what he calls wedges and butts that make the kaleidascope into a square and ran out of black. The shop I bought it was discontinuing that brand and couldn't find any--so ended up replacing All the black! Then bought wideback--decided I needed just solid black instead. Wanted to double bat using 80/20 on the bottom and either a black wool or poly as the top bat--finally found a black poly (Quilter's Dream). So here it is, ready to quilt as soon as I mark it. The black will be done a'la Krista Withers modern quilting. Not sure what I'm doing in the kaleidascopes. Has turned out to be a very expensive quilt!

Wow! Great top and it will look fabulous with Krista's style of quilting. Will you be brave and quilt with a high contrast thread in the black? (Your eyes will thank you for it)

Marvelous opportunity for very striking quilting in the black open space. It would certainly balance your beautiful piecing. Big decision for sure. Please show us what you decide to do before the competition.
