That is a bueautiful log cabin quilt. Could I ask what size are you logs. They look like 2" before sewing. I really like the way you put them in trays

Oh my, your scrappy log cabin is SO GORGEOUS!! I've been saving strips for some time now and just love how you cut them into the correct sized strips and ready to sew. Those little trays looks like a lifesaver. The colors are just beautiful. I printed it for inspiration. Thank you

1.5" unfinished, 1" finished. I use Judy Martin's methods, including for organization of logs. Thank you everyone.

Default Very Impressed - Scrappy Log Cabin

First off, I am so impressed by your scrappy quilt in the Log Cabin design it is wonderful.

Second, how did you get organized so well. I love the strips all being in seperate containers, do you do that for every scrap? Do you have some for triangles and squares as well?

I will never be organized like you are; but, my goodness, it looks great when you show it off! You have a great system going.

Thank you Evelyn, I use Judy Martin's ideas for organizing log cabins, and for sewing them. I am not that organized overall! I don't usually pre-cut triangles or squares unless it's for a specific quilt. I use most of my scraps for log cabins.
