    Thanks again everyone for your kind comments. In answer to a question someone asked: I paper pieced the trees but before I sewed the side fabric on the tree I used a gluestick to tack down the selvages at angles, leaving some hanging off the sides. Then I sewed the white fabric on the sides of the tree to secure the selvages into the seam. During the quilting I topstitched along the selvage edges to keep them from fraying. Hope that helps!
