:) :) :) Mom asked me to make her a shoe organizer a long time ago and the other day I found a piece of fabric at Joanns and I bought it thinking I would use it in a bargello, but the fabric turned out to be duck cloth. So I had this plaid fabric and it is sort of a corduroy fabric and the duck cloth was perfect for the backing. I had a time of it because when I got the pockets done I found that pattern itself is a bit wonky. The back was 2" shorter on the sides so I had to piece it, but I got a pretty nice shoe organizer any ways. I made the billowed pockets, but did not edge stitch like I usually do because of the thickness of the fabric, I didn't need to. I sewed the pockets on and then put some single fold bias tape over the raw edges of the pockets and then after I got it all done, I birthed it like you would a baby quilt and then put some small grommets on it. I used a cropadile tool to do that with and it was great. I'm pleased with the out come of it. Huggies, Fay

I'm thinking I will make one just for that purpose. Maybe put a long pocket to one side for my long ruler and my 9 degree ruler. I have some sewing themed fabric that I could use. Have a great day, Huggies, Fay

:-) :-) :-) Birthing is when you sew some thing right sides together for turning. Say a baby quilt for an example. When you finsh the quilt you sew it to the backing right sides together leaving an opening for turning. Then you stick your hand in side and pull out the project and it is like birthing a baby . A new project is comming to life and then you poke out the corners ,sew the opening and tie the quilt. I think that's why they call it birthing as it is like a new project comming to life. have a great day, Huggies, Fay

Great job!! I love plaids. I am making a similar deal for storing my most often used quilting tools nearer my sewing table but not on my sewing table.I put blue and cream toile on corduroy and plan to add plastic see through pockets using the narrow seam binding like you used. Wish me luck!!!
