    Default teaching a new sewer

This is a picture of my son's girl friend and the quilt we made together. Her cousin had a baby boy. I offered to teach her to make a quilt for him. I picked an easy nine patch using three fabrics (one yard each and makes three baby quilts if you use other fabric for backing) She picked the fabrics as she had been to their house and saw the baby's room. The dad is a dirt biker for fun so the room had these dark colors of green and brown. Not the usual pastel baby colors we are used too! But it worked for them. I had her follow the pattern to measure, cut and sew. She had never used a sewing machine before. I finished it with quilting and binding. And she was very happy with the complete quilt and so was her cousin. It looks wavy but it really isn't. It was made with flannels. I used computerized quilting design free with my machine.

I love it! Especially with it being flannel. She did a good job! She's a very pretty girl & I love her owl earrings!
