I made this just before school started to hang in my classroom and welcome students. I thought it would be bright and cheerful. I had seen the half-and-half block technique in a magazine and liked the idea. This is all my own design, however. I used my cricut to cut out the suns and the lettering and machine appliqued them. Really enjoyed doing it and having it up but it is time to make a winter version for variety. I have an idea with snowflakes and trees.

Very cute. What do you teach? I taught 4th and/or 5th grade for nearly 30 years.

I teach high school math. I have also taught computer science but not for some years now. Last two years I taught high school gifted and talented class as well as math. Could pretty much write my own curriculum. Did a medieval theme one year and multicultural last year. Just as I was getting it going they dropped the program so I am back to math only. If they ever get our clubs going I will be doing a craft club. Quilting mostly.

cute. I love seeing what my son's teachers are into, so I'm sure your students and their parents are enjoying your banner as well.
