Can you use the counted cross stitch fabric on a quilt?
I have quite a few Santa's that I cross stitched and was
thinking of using them for a quilt. The LQS told me the fabric would not work. Has anyone ever tried it?
I made 2 huge quilts with my Dad's assortment of x-stitch. He used 14 or 16 count canvas so I ironed interfacing on the back to prevent the batting from popping thru. But that was the only addition thing I did. Just put it all together with sashing, stitched in the ditch then did scroll on the sashing. Came out nice, altho heavier than usual

Beautiful! I love counted cross stitch and I used to do it a lot when my son was a little guy. I would bring a project along when we would be out and about and he would play. Now I do thread crochet and of coure quilts and crafts.

Before I found quilting, I made afghans using the swedish weaving method. I made one for each grown female in my family and my Mom got two. I'm now working on a second one for one daughter-in-law. She mentions the first one fondly so I will enjoy surprising her with this one in her favorite color of purple. Later I will make a second one for my other daughtrer-in-law.
