    Default Won guild challenge

Our new guild Pres, is setting up 2 challenges a year. this one was to use sparkly fabric from a particular line, and use it in a quilt to represent the particular holiday. I drew July 4th, which was exactly what I wanted. I won the vote and cash. I quilted the background in multicolor sparkly mylar, then machine appliqued the fireworks and USA. The blocks are my own variant on a standard pattern. I was going to bind in red, but my DH suggested a flag fabric, which was a great improvement. Since I had just added to my stash, I took DH out to dinner to celebrate Father's Day.

Lovely job! That block looks very time consuming, you must have a lot of patience.
