WOW!!! How in the world??? Is it glued or stitched? I was under the impression that you had to glue leather pieces together. I know my sewing machine would not like it. It is a bit finicky.

I actually pieced the blocks on a regular sewing machine...a very basic Viking, but we did glue down some of the seams on the back to make it flatter but only on the back of the blocks. We sewed the rows with an industrial machine only because it was faster, but we did the rest with an industrial machine. The young lady I work with once in a while has a shoe repair shop and is a Leathersmith.

Great job on your quilt!! Many, many, too many moons ago, I saw a beautiful leather bed quilt in a window in Aspen, CO. Never forgot it. Always wanted one, husband didn't. Trust a Viking. They seem to stitch through anything. That was an amazing job. It will last forever.

Thanks for this. I have a long leather coat I bought in Turkey (at the big bizarre near Hagah Sofia) about 20 years ago.
I haven't worn it for a couple of years. This may be a good use for it.

I think next time if I ever would make another I would make the block bigger and do a lot less piecing...that would help with the weight of it...
