    Default Glitch or malware?

The last several days when I click on some of the links instead of taking me to the QB page it goes off to an ad page. Then I have to use the back arrow to go back to QB. Had to click three other links just to get to the help center. I've only had this problem with QB. Thoughts??

I have the Quiltingboard link saved on Safari. It brings me directly here. If you are using the Daily Digest, it is not from the Quiltingboard.

I have a direct link on Google Chrome, the same as it's been for the last year. It's only recently that I'm having a problem.

sounds like your computer has become infected by malware.
look at your list of installed programs.
something might have installed itself while you were surfing "out there somewhere."

I just now had an issue when trying to look at a pic. I just log off and try logging back in. I have the site saved in favorites and have from day one. Just so much easier as long as I don't become the glitch. And I am impatient. I don't always pay attention to the timing wheel.

Yes, PatricaJ is correct. When I reinstalled Avasti, I got a bunch of programs installed. I uninstall Avasti but had to go looking to remove these other programs.

I'll have the IT guy check it out again but he just did a malware check on Tuesday and cleaned it all up.
    Thanks

Two things to check. One: look on line for a free tool bar cleaner app. If you installed some new software from the web it sometimes includes some hidden tool bar files. Even if you don't use them they can hide and not only slow down your system but also make you more advertiser vulnerable. they are not malware so don't show up on a cleaning. Look in your Control panel remove program lists for some thing like Scorpion, one of the biggest offenders. I have CCleaner.com which works well. Two...if you see links on a web site with a double underline do not click on it. it is not going to take you to your desired destination but instead to an advertisement. Just let your pointer hover over the link and you will see that, Ad Server is a big offender. I use Spy Hunter to search out hidden cookies that can slow you way down and send info on your internet habits to advertisers. None of these are malware so will not come up on a scan, but a good cleaner will identify them. Do you have a virus protector like Norton? If so they will have an option to seek out those cookies and clean them out. Good luck and remember the internet is like the wild frontier and there are lots of nasty people who want to make money off you by any means necessary. Tread carefully there be dragons there.
