Default losing my log in when I click on a thread.....

My email is messed up so today I came directly to the board site (instead of reading in digest form which is the way I receive it in email).

Every time I click on a thread, the board kicks me out and I'm then not logged in and "not authorized to post". Is this happening to anyone else? I even authorized the storage of my pw for this site and it still happens. Is it the board or my pc? Anyone know?

Don't have your same problem, but when I sign in, it doesn't remember me this week.

Occasionally when I go to post a reply, the site kicks out my sign in. I usually just skip that post and re- sign in.

So far I've encountered no problems!

problems like that usually relate to the way a person's browser is communicating with the board software.

in general, there are a few things that will usually solve the problem:
1- if using microsoft internet explorer, go to View (or tools ... i can never remember which) and add the QB to the sites to be viewed in Compatability mode.

MS IE updates itself often. that will sometimes mess things up temporarily. just log out, close it, re-run and log back in.

2- if using the AOL browser, switch permanently to a different browser.

When you get to the Quilting Board Home Page to sign in, please remember to wait until the page completes loading to log in. The fields have "hint" text in them as opposed to labels outside them to indicate what should be put in there. When the page has mostly loaded, there is code on the page that will dynamically remove that hint text from the field as soon as the user tries to enter their own text in there.

However, if you try to click into the field immediately after it shows up, but while the page has not finished loading, it's possible you may submit the hint text along with your actual username or password, resulting in a failed log-in.

Remember: both username and password are case-sensitive.
Example: suppose my username is JoeSmith and my password is Abc123
If I try to sign in as joesmith, it won’t work
If I try to use the password abc123, it won’t work

Once you have logged in successfully, log out again.
Repeat the login process, but check the "Remember Me" option.
Also, if your browser offers to save the password, let it do so.
Between those two options, login should be a snap going forward.

Repeat the process on all devices you use to log into the QB.

*** If your browser is set to clear all cookies upon exit, then the “Remember Me” option will not work.

personally, i use FireFox and never have problems - even right after it updates itself.
the most i ever need to do - and it's very rarely necessary - is log out, close the browser, re-run and log back in (with "remember me" checked.)

obviously, there could be other things going on in individual situations but those are tips i've picked up along the way.

One Windows 8.1 update rendered my computer unrecognizable and I was forced to establish it as my computer repeatedly, QB was one of those. However, a recent update has apparently fixed this issue, as well as others that a March update created.

Thanks for this, PatriceJ. I checked my IE Tools and Quiltingboard is already on my compatibility view on IE, so that was probably not the problem. Not sure if it's still doing it, since I haven't "replied" to any post today....until this one.

But my email is still not working properly, and when I open my daily email from Quiltingboard, it is not the usual link, but a page of text and data. If I click on it, it does take me to the quilting board site but not to the usual daily digest screen. I assume this may be part of my email problem. I'm using MS Outlook 2003 and from what I read, may have a corrupted profile; it stops working and closes after a few minutes and I also keep getting a network password popup. Lots of "fixes" online but so far none have worked. What a nuisance!

Thanks to everyone who posted about this matter.

given that "they" are up to MS Office 2013 (and/or 365) i suspect you will continue to have problems unless you upgrade.
