    I like this idea. Actually when I make a practice square (to see how difficult it is), I usually make it in "brights" with the intent of eventually making a sampler quilt. I figure once I have 9 or 12 practice squares, I can put together a scrappy looking quilt. Right now I only have 4 squares finished (since I have been working on my UFO projects).

    Neat Idea! I was thinking about it and realized I had a few orphan blocks already that would work nicely in a quilt done sampler like. Hmmm great way to get rid of some orphans off to go dig.

    I'm doing something like this in making a string block for each quilt I make using the scraps. Eventually I'll have a memory quilt of all my quilts.
