Looking for basic deep fry batter recipe (ASAP)

Does anyone know how to make a batter that DOESN'T involve beer, milk, baking powder, club soda, and/or sugar? I'm house sitting for a friend and I've got a HUGE craving for battered scallops and been driving myself crazy for the last half hour trying to find a recipe for a batter that doesn't include ingredients they don't have here.
