    Default A Pacific Northwest Breakfast

Some would say that the northern coast of California is not the Pacific Northwest, but the climate here, in the winter, is about the same that it is further north...cool, wet and misty. This breakfast is perfect for those kind of pensive mornings.

Poached eggs, on homemade, multi-wheat bread, toasted
Small fillet of salmon, sauteed with wild mushrooms
fresh berries, with a doug fir sprig for garnish
    Good espresso

Note that there is no bacon. While bacon is yummy, I'll take salmon and mushrooms over it any day. Plus, they are far healthier.

Love all that except the multi grain bread. I want plain old white bread. I could eat salmon everyday and bacon is a close second.

Sounds so good! I used to eat a lot of poached eggs on toast. Yum!

Nice healthy breakfast. I would have it for dinner though.

Poached eggs on toast is one of my food memories from childhood. I have them a couple times a week. Yum! I have not had salmon for breakfast but then, why not? Thanks for sparkling up a breakfast adventure for us all.

Sorry I could not eat salmon or any fish that early in the morning. I absolutely love bacon but rarely eat it. I prefer to cook my eggs in a non-stick skillet. (Not teflon) I spray with canola oil, I love multi grain bread. I buy it.

I grew up in Seattle. I live in the Sierra foothills now. Your breakfast reminds me so much of home!
