thanks so much for the tute. I had no idea how to do this. Have to get the ruler now. Your quilt is so beautiful. You should be very proud.

Looks so simple....Love the way you make a point instead of the curved top... THANKS

I am confused about the square you put the plate on. Did you use 10 inch sq and then change to 8 and 1/2? I came back to conversation and saw this note and thought I better check. When I saw your finshed quilt I was so impressed I showed my family. and later I realized that everyone else like it just as much. You should win a ribbon. Good work and thanks for sharing.

Thank you Suzanne! I originally appliqued the plates on a 10" white block. Somehow ---when squaring up --- I ended up with 8 1/2" blocks (unfinished).....You can do the background (white in my case) any size you want.

THANK YOU for the tutorial! Years ago, I made one block of the Dresden plate and it just sits in a stash bin because I got frustrated doing the curves. Seeing how you did the tips makes me want to revisit this pattern again, hopefully, sometime this year after I do the million or so other project ideas that this site has inspired me to do. You ladies are amazing!!

Thank you so much for sharing this. I have long admired, and feared, Dresden plate quilts. With your method, I'm confident I can handle it.
