Flying Geese for dum.... anyone having trouble

Also you can leave both the base rect. and the waste end of the square in place until you lined up and pressed and then trim both off.

On a quilt I'm working on, I have a 2"x4" rectangle and 2 2" squares. Sometimes I can't get the 2x4 rec I should have when I have stitched the squares on. It's a kit and this is what the instructions say. Should I be making the squares bigger?

Thanks for the tutorial. I am going to be doing a whole lot of FG for a quilt I am just starting and it will help guide me in the right direction. A little extra guidance and pictures go a long way toward success. Thanks!

If the rectangle is 2x the height - 1/2", the instruction for this should use a 3 1/2" x 2" rectangle when using a 2" square.
If the rectangle is 2"x4". the squares should total 4 1/2" length or 2 1/4" per square, to allow for overlap - does that make sense? But then proportion is off, as your rectangle should be 2 1/4" also... Something is off here.
What is your finished size flying geese block?
