I try to use johnson baby oil to clear up the machine , can safe the color machine not milky, pls not to use the Alcohol for clearing the machine. she will be take off the color.

HI. Are there any tricks to keeping dust out of the French polish? My workbench is upstairs and the windows must be kept open. And...if you know anything about downtown Seattle neighborhoods, the construction is non-stop.

Since Glenn was the heart of this Quiltingboard Thread, I thought I would ask you to join us in honoring him. Glenn (Skip) was a career Soldier in the US Army, so our project is to honor him and those who served for us!

Our 3 day Toga (TreadleOn Gathering and Academy), is where we meet for fellowship, sharing, fixing and sewing of mainly non electric sewing machines. You are welcomed to join us Aug 1-3, in New Hope, Alabama.
We will be showing Pat the items to be donated, on the morning of August 3rd.
Please, let us show Pat, Glenn's wife, and the Veterans that Glenn made a difference.

"AL Heart of Dixie TOGA- Honor Skip Project

Hello All,

At last year's Toga meeting, it was suggested that we, as a group, do a voluntary project for donation to the Huntsville Veterans home in Glenn "Skip" Cleveland's name. Skip was such a wonderful presence at our TOGA, always ready to lend a cheerful hand to anyone who had a question. The veteran's home was chosen as Skip was a career Army man.

I have been in contact with the volunteer coordinator at the Floyd E. "Tut" Fann State Veterans Home, and they would welcome items such as lap quilts, wheelchair quilts, walker/wheelchair bags, and wheelchair armrest bags. There are no fabric or size requirements other than the items be in new condition and washable.

This facility has 150 beds and provides skilled nursing and memory care. A large number of the residents use some type of mobility assisting device. Most of the veterans are male, but in their recent Facebook photos (FB page at Floyd E. "Tut" Fann State Veterans Home), there are a few women. Suggested fabric prints are patriotic, but outdoors, sports teams, and plaids or stripes are also fine. There are many free patterns available online for these types of projects if you don't already have a favorite go-to pattern.

If you would like to participate, please have your item(s) finished and ready for donation by the end of the TOGA. If there is enough interest to visit the home as a group to make the donation, I will see if the coordinator will help set something up for us. If not, I will take them to the home after the TOGA.

Once upon a time, he was instrumental in my development of the care and conservation of old machines. Thank you for your response within the thread. It's been a while since I've had the time to conserve an old one... In my heart, Skip lives on.
