Default Free to good home-Rocketeer near LAX

I just picked up a Singer Queen Anne cabinet that I wanted to put my 201-2 in instead of the ugly, heavy cabinet it came in. The QA cabinet came with a Rocketeer (500) inside (missing the end cover, but appears complete otherwise). I have no use for that machine, so thought I would offer it free for pickup here to anyone who wants it. I won't ship, though. I am located about 5 miles south of LAX if you are interested.

Thought I would add a photo--the power cord/foot pedal are intact and included

I saw a face plate on Ebay for under $25. Those hinges are tricky and that is why you see so many taken apart. They just fall off and they can't seem to get them back on right. I have seen paper clip hinges. Parts are still out there so don't lose faith. This machine can be repaired and will stitch well. They are very popular right now.

Just so you know, the Rocketeer has a longer base than the 201 so you're going to have a small gap at the right side when you drop the 201 into the cabinet.

The cabinet the 201 came in has the same gap--but it is filled with a hinged black metal plate that I think I can take out and place in the QA cabinet. If not, it is a small enough piece that I would not feel awkward asking a woodworking friend to make a piece to fill in..

I've been thinking about looking for one of those little plates. My 201 found her permanent home in a cabinet that originally housed a 404. I made the switch because of the knee controller, I love them.

I've got a new home for the Rocketeer. I also posted the offer in the Vintage Sewing Machine group on Ravelry as well and one of the helpful people there has been looking for that model, so will take this one.

I'm glad you found it a new home. I didn't think it would take long, it's a popular machine.
