What cleaning product have you used with successfully to clean mocha 301? Tried soap and water and paint came off in a small spot.

I use gojo, the waterless hand cleaner Without pumice. Others use baby wipes. Some just use sewing machine oil.

I just bought mint vintage Fleetwood TW 1692, in cabinet. Motor runs good bobbin and wheel turn smoothly, but when I engage the regular sewing the wheel turns but seems to freeze at a certain point in the rotation. Should I open or could it maybe need oil. Want to be carefull, it can't be much.

It's either a rust spot or more likely a thread caught behind the hook.

I watched a couple videos on YouTube that were awesome! He took a Singer treadle that was just disgusting! Rusty, dirty, ewww. And it was so beautiful when he was done!

I'm making some progress with the Domestic 153 but I'm an oily mess! 😬 the knurled knob on the flywheel, the knob you unlock to wind bobbins, is absolutely gross. I've tried butting SMO on it and letting it soak several times. It doesn't seem to help much. Is it just so caked and dried it will take a while?

ive seen some videos where you can use Gojo with no pumice to clean machines. What would you suggest? I'm due to get my replacement friction pulley today! I found a replacement light bulb and there is now light on the "subject". The bobbin case needs to go back in and she might be ready for a threading and sewing attempt! Yay!
