Default Yea! check another one off my list!

Here she is! MW badge, made by Portman.

Motor runs nicely -but machine is jammed/gummed up.

This machine was made to compete with the European machines - like the Elna "grasshopper" it's about the same size.

This company is one of the last to make machines in the USA. They sold this machine under several different badge names. I did not get the case or table with it. The machine smells like it was kept in a musty case for a long time. Case probably was in horrid shape and tossed, but at least they saved the machine.

Cathy, that's a very nice looking machine. I have no doubt that you and DH will have it all cleaned and perfumed up real soon -- at least the musty smell will be gone (I'd bet on it if I were a gambler!). I would bet your DH can build you a case for that one! It seems that he's very talented that way! Congratulations on another one off your list!

Neat machine! IIRC OldSewnSew (Jim in Oregon) had one of those machines and wrote about it here. He hasn't been on in quite a while though.
I think I remember him mentioning it takes an odd size needle. I could be wrong.

    Cathy,

Really nice machine. I didn't see a detail of the right side. It looks like the handwheel is down low? If so, I'm wondering what the mechanics in the arm and pillar are like. Is it a rotary bobbinhook?

I like the color, too. Is it a hammertone finish?
