Default 1940 Franklin sewing machine

MY mother bought it at Sears new in 1940 . It is still in cabinet but the wiring really looks wore out. I am wondering if it it is worth redoing. bignan

I just bought one to fix up - mine turns very nicely - it has a big bobbin! the wires are worn pretty bad on mine too - I was thinking about a treadle - mine has the t-shirt looking slide plate - I haven't scouted out a manual yet - it looks like a trick to wind up the shuttle - I believe Bennett made a tutorial on that last week or so on the White bobbin case http://www.quiltingboard.com/vintage...c-t172420.html - you may or may not have the same bobbin case as the White
