Default 404 singer sewing machine problems

Hello 👋 I feel there is a rotating issue with the bottom part of my sewing machine by the bobbin. When I start sewing it cuts my top string every time. I can never go pass 4 stitches. It was working just fine but I was sewing some heavy material and when I did I heard it go clunk and then the needle was bent I switched out the needle and now it cuts my top string all the time I don’t know what to do but I love my singer so much that I am trying everything I possibly can to fix it.

The bobbin case is likely dislodged or there is a thread caught in there. Have you removed the bobbin case and cleaned the area well?

I would put in another new needle and an empty bobbin, no upper thread. Slowly cycle the machine by hand, listening for any metal on metal "ticking" sounds from the bobbin area. If you hear something, slide open the bobbin plate, cycle and listen and look, see if you can isolate the contact.
