If you ever need an odd sized bobbin tire that's unavailable or expensive, most hardware stores have a wide assortment of rubber O-rings that will work fine.

Wow! I have wondered about O rings. Thanks. I just got a new cord on my fw and now have to look at the other parts.

My husband used rubber bands. But then, he's often doing what he can to get moving while waiting on something better. He once had a broken fan belt in the car, and drove home using a piece cut from a woman's pantyhose.
