Antique Singer - New To Me
#1
this was a surprise gift from DH today.
i've wanted a machine like this for years.
he got it for $25 and the machine has been rewired and a received a day of beauty by the LQS before the lady sold it to him.
isn't she stunning.
if anyone knows anything about this machine i'd love to hear it - i know nothing about antique singers.

ooooooooo, a Red Eye! How lucky can you get????
That unwieldy looking "handle" on the foot pedal is actually a knee pedal. You can attach the foot pedal to a table leg or the inside of a cabinet and use your knee to sew. I love a knee pedal.

Gorgeous machine! I think that one is called a 'redeye' and is very much sought after.
I don't know much about them, but look in the virtual section for the vintage machine topic and the knowledgable folk there can tell you all about it.
I do know you can check Singer's website and input the serial number and find out when and where it was manufactured.
