Hello all. I am new to this vintage machine game (new to sewing too) and I wondered what accessories will fit my thrift store bargain New Home 545? She is a beast but sews quite well. And besides a few dings from pins she was shiney as new once I cleaned her up. I am quite pleased with my purchase but, alas, no accessories were included. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hello, welcome to the board and welcome to vintage machines. First, make a lot of space in your house because you'll need it for all the machines you'll want to pick up.

It looks as though your machine is a straight, high shank machine and generally speaking will accept any accessory for that type.

I'm looking at those accessory photos again, could be straight low shank. The New Home zig zag machine I had seemed to take a different foot than a Singer 15 or other low shank.

Welcome, Annie. I'm fairly certain that it is a high shank machine. To double check, if you have a foot on it (I couldn't tell from your avatar picture) you can lower the foot and measure from the bottom of the foot to the screw hole that attaches the foot, would be 1 ¼" . If it is a high shank, you can get some feet sets like https://www.amazon.com/High-Shank-Pi.../dp/B0038RP502 that should work with your machine. I'm guessing that it probably takes class 15 bobbins and system 15x1 130/705H needles.

I have found that only the big red "Reply" button or "Quote" work to give me the paper clip icon to work for adding pictures.

Thank you for the info and links. Hopefully I'll be knowledgeable enough one day to pay it forward and help some other newbie. I already have my sights on vintage husqvarna, a 6020, 6010, or 120. Any thoughts on the subject?
