On Boxing Day I bought an 1120 for a very reasonable price, which became even more reasonable when the reverse wouldn't work and the seller gave me $100 off. 2 hours with my DH and he took it apart, oiled and put it back together and reverse works beautifully.

At any rate, today was my first sewing with it, and it is amazing. My husband had shoulder surgery on Wednesday and is in a sling. He was getting some rubbing/chafing where the sling goes around his neck. He asked me to make him something to help this. I took a 4" x 6" piece of flanelette, and sewed a quick seam around the edges. Not only is he really happy, but it sews like a dream, so I'm thrilled.

I love both of my Berninas, a 1530 and a 1020 I use as a backup. I had only a problem once with the 1020 but it was a while back and I don't remember what part was replaced. Check out on eBay to see what the price sold on your machine. These babies seem to hold the value nicely.

You will love it. I have had 5 1020's when I had the rug business. I still have one. I bought a computer one and quickly resold it. Marcia
