Betsy Ross Electric Sewing Machine - use it?
My husband surprised me with a Betsy Ross electric sewing machine he found at a yard sale for $15! So cute! The wooden case has hardly any red vinyl left and looks terrible but the machine has no rust. Does anyone have one and do you use it? We will have to do some repair. The switch doesn't work. We are going to spiff up the case and put the machine back into working condition. The machine moves perfectly when I turn the hand wheel and it still has the belt on it. I found that needles are still available to fit. We like to pick up old machines in disrepair and fix them. I confess to being a machine-aholic.

I am not familiar with the Betsy Ross, are those one of the small "toy" machines. I would say use it.
I think most of us here have been inoculated with the machine-aholic.
Have fun with your rescues!

$15.00?! Wowzers. Great going. There is one at an antique mall we stopped in on Saturday. Was there the last time we were there, too. My suspicion is with a heavy price tag of $200.00, it will sit there a whilel
Cute though.[

I bought the crank one at an antique fair along with a singer and a sew-a-matic junior. After a little bit of oiling They work! I just need the proper fitting needles. Can anyone tell me where I can find the nonstandard size needles? Thanks.
