Personally, I prefer it when someone offers information about a product -- most of the time they know a whole lot more than I do. It always pays to check things out for yourself too. I think you did the right thing!

Steve, correcting all the misinformation from fleabay's sewing machine sellers would be a full time job! I bet that lady was very grateful that you helped her out.

Just purchased this on ebay. Labeled a White, clearly a Domestic in the pictures. I still wanted it.
I hope this link works. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gorgeous-Ant...torefresh=true

At least White and Domestic did eventually become the same company, and after that point the Domestics were Whites with a different name - except the ones White made under the Domestic name for Sears, which were basically Singer clones. . .
I have found that most buyers know what they are looking for - so even with a lot of misinformation on the seller's part, the buyer does OK. In fact, I've gotten some super great deals from sellers that didn't really know what they had. And I wasn't going to tell them . . . and ruin my chance at a great deal.

I'm just happy that seller was nice about and wanted the right info. I think we've seen ads posted here before where the seller didn't want to fix their mistakes.
We all know sellers often get the info wrong. When buying long distance all we can do is examine the pics as best as we can, make our own decisions and hope for the best.
